Forming in late 2022, The Tonics comprises of lead songwriter and charismatic guitarist Alex Malpass, vocalist Anna Marsh, bass player Charlie Plews and drum aficionado Matt Joiner, with each member bringing alternate perspectives within their close-knit chemistry. Writing music influenced by 60s pop, new wave post punk and romantic poetry, the group laces their sound with a healthy dose of pop sensibility, building them a feverish and eclectic fan base.
Fresh off the back of a summer spent playing the likes of Worcester Music Fest and Mappfest alongside a very successful busking tour, Cheltenham-based indie outfit The Tonics are rounding out 2023 back on the local music scene, picking up performances across the Gloucestershire county and beyond.
Earlier in their year, they released a limited run of demo session CDs, featuring fan favourites 'Memories', 'Falling' and 'Just Let Me Go'. Almost instantly, The Tonics' first bit of merchandise was sold out, with crowds craving a piece of their strong and expanding live setlist.
